Revelation 15 – What Comes Forth When Everything Is Exposed
Study Content
This chapter is brief, but it carries a weight that is not meant to be rushed past. It opens with John seeing another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues, for in them is filled up the wrath of God. The word filled carries the sense of completion, of something reaching its full measure. This is not sudden or impulsive. It is the result of something that has been building, something that has reached its appointed fullness.
And that raises a quiet question. When something reaches fullness in your life, whether good or difficult, do you recognize that it did not begin in that moment, but has been forming over time.
Then John sees something like a sea of glass mingled with fire, and those who have gotten the victory over the beast, over his image, over his mark, and over the number of his name, standing on that sea, having the harps of God. The sea of glass speaks of clarity, of stillness, of something no longer disturbed. Yet it is mingled with fire, which speaks of purification, testing, and refining.
Which means this is not a shallow victory. It is a victory that has come through process, through testing, through standing firm when pressure was present.
And that invites reflection. When you think of victory, do you see it as something easy and immediate, or do you recognize the depth of what it takes to remain aligned through refining.
Then they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb. This is significant, because it connects what God has done in the past with what He has fulfilled in Christ. The song of Moses reflects deliverance from Egypt, from bondage. The song of the Lamb reflects redemption, restoration, and completion.
Which means this is not a new story. It is a continued one, brought into fullness.
And what they declare is not focused on themselves. It is centered on God. His works are great and marvellous. His ways are just and true. He is King. There is a clarity in their worship. It is not emotional reaction. It is grounded recognition.
And that raises a deeper question. When you worship, is it centered on your circumstances, or is it anchored in who God is regardless of what you are facing.
Then they say, “Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name?” This is not a question of uncertainty. It is a declaration of inevitability. There will come a point where what is true will be recognized fully.
Then it says all nations shall come and worship before Him, for His judgments are made manifest. Manifest means revealed, made visible, brought into the open.
Which means what has been hidden will not remain hidden.
And that leads to a personal reflection. Are there areas in your life where things remain unexamined, where things are covered or avoided, rather than brought into the light where they can be dealt with.
Then the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven is opened. The testimony speaks of what God has established, what He has declared, what is true.
And out of the temple come the seven angels, clothed in pure and white linen, having their breasts girded with golden girdles. There is purity, there is readiness, there is purpose.
Then one of the living creatures gives them seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who lives forever and ever.
Again, this is not random. It is intentional. It is measured. It is given.
And then something happens that is very important. The temple is filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power, and no man is able to enter into the temple until the plagues are fulfilled.
This speaks of a moment where access is not the focus. Completion is.
Which means there are times when God is doing something that is not meant to be interrupted, not meant to be altered, not meant to be negotiated.
And that raises a deeper question. Can you trust God in moments where you do not fully understand what He is doing, where you are not able to step in or change the process.
Because this chapter is not loud, but it is firm. It reveals that there is a point where everything is brought into clarity, where what has been forming reaches completion, and where God’s justice is revealed as both true and right.
And it also reveals something else that must not be overlooked. In the midst of what is about to unfold, there are those who are standing, who have overcome, who are clear, who are worshiping.
Which means the environment does not determine the posture. Alignment does.
And that brings everything into a final reflection. What comes forth when everything is exposed.
What is revealed when things reach fullness.
And what posture you are standing in when God’s truth is made clear.
Because this chapter is not just about what God is about to do.
It is about who you are when everything is brought into the light.
Prayer
Father,
Thank You for being just, true, and faithful in all that You do.
Help me to trust You even when I do not fully understand what is unfolding.
Search my heart and bring anything hidden into the light, so that it can be aligned with You.
Strengthen me to stand firm, to remain clear, and to walk in truth through every process.
Let my posture be one of worship, not based on circumstances, but based on who You are.
Prepare me to stand in Your presence with clarity and alignment.
Amen
