Description

Luke 2 announces a Savior in a manger. Acts 2 releases fire in an upper room. Explore how heaven interrupts ordinary lives and why divine disruption is often the beginning of awakening.

Scripture
Luke 3:4
“Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.”

Acts 3:6
“Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.”

Devotion

Luke 3 begins in the wilderness.

Not in a palace.

Not in a synagogue.

Not in influence.

In the wilderness, John cries out, Prepare the way.

Preparation always precedes manifestation.

Before Jesus heals publicly, a voice first confronts privately.

Before Acts 3 records a lame man walking, Acts 3 reveals apostles who had already been prepared.

The miracle at the gate called Beautiful did not begin at the gate.

It began in hearts that had already been stripped of pride, fear, and self reliance.

John prepared the path for Christ.

Now Peter and John carry Christ into the streets.

Preparation becomes participation.

Acts 3 is not about a miracle.

It is about men who had been made ready.

Reflection

What crooked places is God straightening in you right now?

If opportunity stood before you today, would you recognize what you carry?

Extended Insight

Luke 3 exposes crooked places.

John speaks of valleys lifted, mountains lowered, rough places made smooth.

This is not geography.

This is formation.

God straightens what we have learned to navigate crookedly.

Acts 3 reveals what happens when preparation meets opportunity.

Peter says, Such as I have give I thee.

He knew what he carried.

That confidence did not come from personality.

It came from wilderness alignment.

John prepared Israel for Christ.

Now Christ’s Spirit prepares His disciples to carry authority.

You cannot give what you have not allowed God to shape within you

Prayer

Father,

Prepare me in the hidden places.

Straighten what I have allowed to remain crooked.

Level pride.

Lift discouragement.

Smooth fear.

And when the moment comes,

Let me recognize what You have placed within me.

Let me walk in quiet authority.

Not in self confidence, but in Spirit confidence.

In Jesus’ name, amen.
