When God Feels Quiet

Devotion
There are seasons when God feels very close. Prayer feels natural, Scripture speaks clearly, and your faith feels steady. But there are also seasons when God feels quiet. You pray and it feels like the words echo back to you. You read the Bible but struggle to feel anything from it. In those moments it can be easy to assume that something is wrong with your faith or that God has stepped away from your life. The truth is that many faithful people in Scripture experienced this same feeling. David openly asked God why it felt like He had hidden His face. His honesty shows us that moments of silence from God are not unusual in the journey of faith. Silence does not mean absence. Often, God is still working in ways that cannot be immediately seen or felt. Faith sometimes grows strongest in the moments when we continue to trust even when the answers are quiet.

Prayer
Father, there are times when I wish Your voice felt clearer and Your presence felt closer. When I experience quiet seasons, help me remember that You have not abandoned me. Strengthen my faith so that I continue to seek You even when answers are not immediate. Teach me to trust Your character and Your timing. Amen.
