“Not Everything That Is Slow Is Stalled”

In a world that celebrates speed, it is easy to assume that progress should always be visible. We are surrounded by stories of overnight success, rapid growth, instant results, and immediate answers. Because of that, many people begin measuring God’s work by how quickly they can see evidence of it.

If something is moving slowly, they assume nothing is happening.

If a prayer remains unanswered, they assume God is silent.

If a dream takes years instead of months, they begin questioning whether they heard Him correctly in the first place.

But God’s work rarely unfolds according to the pace we prefer.

Some of the most important things He does happen beneath the surface, hidden from view long before they become visible to anyone else.

Think about a seed.

The moment it is planted, growth begins. Yet for a season, nothing can be seen. No leaves. No branches. No fruit. If you judged the process only by what was visible above the ground, you might conclude that nothing is happening at all.

But beneath the surface, roots are forming.

The unseen work is preparing the visible work.

Many people become discouraged because they focus entirely on what they cannot see. They interpret the absence of visible results as evidence that God is not moving. They become impatient, frustrated, and tempted to abandon the very thing God is still developing.

But hidden growth is still growth.

Preparation is still progress.

Waiting is not the same thing as being forgotten.

This is where trust becomes essential. Because faith often requires believing that God is working before there is any visible evidence to support it. Faith allows you to remain faithful in seasons when the roots are growing but the fruit has not yet appeared.

The danger of impatience is that it causes people to dig up what God is still planting. They abandon the process because they expected results faster than God intended to provide them. They mistake God’s pace for God’s absence.

But God is never rushed.

He understands the importance of foundations. He understands timing. He understands that growth which develops too quickly often lacks the strength to endure.

This is true in relationships.

It is true in spiritual growth.

It is true in ministry.

It is true in healing.

And it is true in every promise God is developing within your life.

Many of the things we ask God to accelerate require preparation that we cannot yet see. While we are focused on outcomes, He is focused on foundations. While we are asking for fruit, He is strengthening roots.

And roots matter.

Because when storms come, it is the hidden strength beneath the surface that determines whether something remains standing.

If your season feels slower than you hoped, do not immediately assume that nothing is happening. Do not interpret delay as abandonment. Do not mistake preparation for inactivity.

God may be doing some of His most important work where your eyes cannot yet see it.

Not everything that is slow is stalled.

Sometimes the very thing that appears motionless is quietly becoming strong enough to sustain everything God intends to build through it.

And one day, what was growing beneath the surface will become visible for everyone to see.

Much Love ~Gayla~
