God’s Peace Is Still Available
Scripture
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”John 14:27 KJV
Devotion
There are moments when peace feels distant. Life becomes heavy, circumstances grow complicated, and the heart begins to feel unsettled. In those seasons people often assume that peace belongs to calmer times, to moments when problems disappear and everything finally feels stable.
But the peace Jesus spoke about does not depend on perfect circumstances.
Before His crucifixion, Jesus told His disciples that He was leaving them His peace. The world offers peace that depends on conditions going well. When those conditions change, that peace quickly disappears.
The peace Jesus gives is different.
It remains available even when life is uncertain. It reaches the heart when questions remain unanswered. It steadies the soul when fear tries to take hold.
This peace does not ignore the reality of difficult situations. Instead, it anchors the heart in the presence of Christ.
No matter what season you are walking through today, God’s peace has not been withdrawn. It is still available to the heart that turns toward Him.
Reflection
Are there circumstances in your life that have made peace feel distant or impossible?
How might your heart respond if you remembered that Christ’s peace is still being offered to you?
Extended Insight
John 14 takes place during a moment when the disciples were about to face deep uncertainty. Jesus knew they would soon experience confusion, fear, and grief. In that moment He promised them a peace that the world could not provide.
This peace flows from relationship with Him.
Unlike the peace offered by temporary solutions, the peace of Christ comes from knowing that God remains present and faithful. It guards the heart even when circumstances remain unresolved.
Believers experience this peace as they continue turning their hearts toward Christ in trust.
Prayer
Father, there are times when my heart feels troubled by the things happening around me. Peace can seem far away when life becomes overwhelming.
Thank You for the peace that Jesus promised. Help me receive the peace that comes from Your presence rather than searching for peace in changing circumstances.
Quiet my fears and steady my heart. Let Your peace fill the places where worry once lived.
I receive Your peace today.
Amen.
