God Already Knows Where This Is Going
Scripture
“I know the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure.” Isaiah 46:10 KJV
Devotion
There are seasons in life when everything feels uncertain.
You may find yourself asking questions about the future. Where is this path leading? Will things work out? Is there a purpose behind what is happening right now?
When the answers are unclear, the heart can easily become restless.
But Scripture reminds us of something powerful about God. He declares the end from the beginning. In other words, God already sees the outcome of what you are walking through today.
While you are standing in the middle of the story, God is not.
He sees the beginning, the middle, and the ending all at once. The twists, the delays, the moments that feel confusing to you are all held within His complete understanding.
Nothing about your life is unfolding randomly before Him.
This does not mean every moment will be easy. But it does mean that God is never surprised by what is happening. The uncertainty you feel does not exist in the same way for Him.
God already knows where this is going.
And because He knows the end from the beginning, you can trust that your life is not drifting without direction. Even when the path feels unclear, God’s wisdom is quietly guiding the story forward.
Reflection
Is there a situation in your life where the outcome feels uncertain?
How might your heart respond differently if you trusted that God already sees the end of the story?
Extended Insight
Isaiah 46 emphasizes the sovereignty of God over history and human events. Unlike humanity, which can only see the present moment, God sees the full scope of time. His plans are not formed as circumstances unfold. They are established with complete knowledge.
This truth offers deep comfort to believers. When life feels unpredictable, it is easy to assume that events are out of control. Yet Scripture reminds us that God’s purposes stand firm.
The God who knows the end from the beginning is not watching your life unfold with uncertainty. He is guiding it according to His wisdom.
Prayer
Father, there are times when the future feels unclear and I do not know where this path is leading.
Thank You for reminding me that You already know the end from the beginning. Help me trust Your wisdom when I cannot see what lies ahead.
Give me peace in the middle of uncertainty and confidence that You are guiding my life according to Your purpose.
I place my future in Your hands.
Amen.
