God Is Working Even When You Cannot See It
Scripture
“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”1 Corinthians 2:9 KJV
Devotion
One of the most difficult parts of faith is trusting God when nothing appears to be happening. Prayers are spoken. Hope is held onto. Yet circumstances seem unchanged and the path ahead remains unclear.
In those moments the heart may quietly wonder whether God is truly working.
But Scripture reminds us that much of God’s work happens beyond what human eyes can see.
The plans God prepares often begin forming long before they become visible. Situations are being arranged. Hearts are being shaped. Doors that seem closed may be quietly leading to something different than we imagined.
God’s work is rarely limited to what we can immediately observe.
There are seasons when faith must rest on the character of God rather than on visible evidence. Trust grows when the heart believes that God remains active even when the results have not yet appeared.
What feels like silence may actually be preparation.
What feels like waiting may be the quiet unfolding of something greater than we can currently understand.
Reflection
Are there areas of your life where it feels like nothing is changing or moving forward?
How might your heart respond differently if you believed that God is still working behind the scenes?
Extended Insight
The promise in 1 Corinthians 2 reminds believers that God’s purposes often extend beyond human perception. What God prepares cannot always be understood through immediate circumstances.
Throughout Scripture, many of God’s greatest works developed during hidden seasons. Joseph spent years in obscurity before stepping into leadership. David waited long after his anointing before becoming king. Even the ministry of Jesus unfolded according to God’s timing rather than human expectation.
These stories reveal that unseen preparation is often part of God’s process.
Faith allows believers to trust that God’s work continues even when the evidence has not yet appeared.
Prayer
Father, there are times when I struggle to see what You are doing in my life. Waiting can make it feel as though nothing is changing.
Help me trust that You are working even when I cannot see it. Strengthen my faith to believe that Your plans are unfolding according to Your wisdom.
Give me patience during the hidden seasons and remind me that Your purposes are greater than what I can currently understand.
I place my trust in Your unseen work today.
Amen.
