Peace as Confirmation

Scripture:
“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.”
Colossians 3:15

DEVOTION

There have been moments when everything around me looked uncertain, yet something inside of me was steady.

The circumstances were not fully resolved.

The outcome was not guaranteed.

The path ahead was not completely clear.

And still, there was peace.

Not excitement.

Not adrenaline.

Not dramatic reassurance.

Just peace.

I have learned that alignment does not always come with applause. Sometimes it comes with quiet confidence.

When I move outside of God’s design, there is agitation. I overthink. I rehearse conversations. I try to force clarity.

But when I am aligned, there is rest.

Peace does not mean everything is easy. It means my spirit is settled.

Reflection:

Where in my life do I feel true peace?

Is there any area where agitation might be signaling misalignment?

Extended Insight:

The word rule in this verse carries the idea of an umpire. Peace functions as a decision maker.

It does not eliminate difficulty. It governs the heart within it.

Alignment is not measured by how impressive something appears. It is often confirmed by the presence of peace.

When peace rules, I am not striving to prove. I am not scrambling to secure.

God’s design produces steadiness.

If I lose peace repeatedly in a direction I am pursuing, I must pause and ask why. Peace is not weakness. It is guidance.

When my heart is governed by peace, I can move forward without internal chaos.

Prayer:

Father,

Teach me to recognize the peace that comes from alignment with You.

If I am pursuing something outside of Your design, let my spirit grow unsettled until I return to You.

Guard me from mistaking excitement for confirmation.

Let peace be my compass.

When I feel steady in a direction that honors You, give me confidence to continue.

When I feel agitation, give me wisdom to pause.

I do not want to move ahead without Your peace ruling in my heart.

Quiet what needs to be quieted.

Strengthen what needs to be strengthened.

Let Your peace confirm that I am walking in alignment.

Amen.
