When You Feel Unqualified
“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”
2 Corinthians 12:9
DEVOTION:
There are moments when the assignment feels bigger than you.
The responsibility stretches you.
The calling exposes your insecurity.
The opportunity confronts your weakness.
And the first thought rises quickly:
I am not enough.
Paul knew that feeling.
He did not ask God to expand his strength.
He asked Him to remove the weakness.
But the answer he received was not removal.
It was revelation.
“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”
The word perfect does not mean polished.
It means completed.
Brought to fullness.
Carried to its intended end.
God does not wait for you to feel capable before He works through you.
He waits for you to depend.
Weakness is not disqualification.
It is positioning.
When you feel unqualified, you are standing in the exact place where grace becomes visible.
Your insecurity is not proof that you should step back.
It may be proof that you are stepping into something that requires Him.
You were never called to be enough on your own.
You were called to be available.
And grace fills what confidence cannot.
REFLECTION:
Where in my life am I shrinking back because I feel unqualified?
EXTENDED INSIGHT:
Paul asked for his weakness to be removed.
God did not remove it.
He reframed it.
Grace is not backup power.
It is operating power.
When you feel inadequate, you are standing at the doorway of grace.
Self sufficiency blocks grace.
Need invites it.
You do not have to become stronger before God can use you.
You only have to remain surrendered.
PRAYER:
Father,
I confess that sometimes I feel small in front of what You are asking of me.
I see my limitations before I see Your strength.
Remind me that Your grace is not fragile.
It is sufficient.
Where I feel weak, be strong.
Where I feel unsure, be steady.
Where I feel incapable, remind me that I am never alone.
I surrender my inadequacy to You.
Use me anyway.
Amen
