“Bless This Mess: When God Calls You to Build a Business (and You Can’t Even Find the Settings Button)”

Let me just go ahead and say it:
If God truly calls you to start a business, He will absolutely let you walk through the tech wilderness just to prove how much you don’t rely on your own strength. Ask me how I know.
I am currently the proud, sanctified, slightly sleep-deprived founder of a faith-based business—and I still can’t remember where the “Publish” button is half the time. I have spent the past three days trying to fix a single glitch on Facebook that turned into a full-blown, emotionally disorienting, spiritual detour. I’ve prayed over buttons. I’ve rebuked browser windows. I’ve laid hands on my laptop and whispered, “Not today, Satan. Not today.”
Let’s be honest: when God calls you to build something, He doesn’t hand you a user manual. Nope. He gives you a vision, a dream, and enough tech chaos to grow the fruits of the Spirit in real time. Patience? Oh, I’ve met her. Longsuffering? We’re on a first-name basis.
And yet—somehow—the Holy Spirit still shows up in the backend of Wix.
💡
Lessons I’ve Learned in the Tech Trenches:
The “default booking form” is fine. I am not. But the Lord is faithful.
When the upload fails 3 times, I drink water, walk outside, and repeat Philippians 4:13 with a southern drawl for extra effect.
Sometimes Wix auto-adds your service to the page and you think you’ve performed a miracle. Don’t worry, I gave God the glory anyway.
And yes, I’ve Googled “What is a focal point in Wix?” more times than I care to admit.
🙃
Real Talk: It’s Okay to Feel Like You’re in Over Your Head
You’re not dumb. You’re not behind. You’re just being discipled by divine download speed. This isn’t just business—it’s sanctification with a splash of JavaScript.
Every tab I open becomes a tabernacle. Every error message becomes a reminder that God is the only one who can truly make all things work together (and that includes hyperlinks and header images).
🕊️
Spiritual Reminder:
“Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” – Psalm 127:1
Guess what? You’re not building this business alone. God is the architect, the web developer, the project manager, and when you need it—He’ll be the Divine IT support who takes over when you’re ready to chuck your laptop across the room.
💬
Final Thoughts (That Might Also Be Prayers):
Lord, give me strength. And maybe a customer or two.
Remind me I’m called, even when I feel crazy.
And please… don’t let me hit “delete section” when I mean “save.”
To the fellow entrepreneur crying over Canva templates and broken links:
You’re doing better than you think.
God is not just using you to build a business—He’s building you in the process.
And yes, even when the upload fails, the calling still stands. 💻🔥✝️
