They say your first encounter with God is the one you never forget.
For me, it didn’t happen in a church pew or on a mountaintop.
It happened at the bottom of the sea.
In my dream, the ocean didn’t roar—it trembled.
The waters above me spiraled like a reverse tornado, peeling back layers of sea as if heaven had reached down with its own hand. But I wasn’t drowning. I was standing. Feet planted on the ocean floor. Still. Watching.
Around me, the sea life swirled—fish, plants, particles—caught in the holy chaos of motion. It should have felt like a nightmare, but it didn’t. It felt divine. Like the sea itself had parted for a reason.
And then I saw Him.
Jesus.
He stood there, calm and commanding, holding a trident in His hand—not a weapon of destruction, but of authority. The kind of authority that rules over chaos, commands peace, and walks on waves. His eyes locked with mine.
He didn’t raise His voice.
He pointed the trident at me and spoke words I’ve never forgotten:
“I am the calm in the midst of all your storms.”
That was it.
No long sermon. No dramatic thunder. Just truth. Piercing. Deep. Eternal.
And then I woke up—with peace that I couldn’t shake, even if I tried.
Scripture Reflection:
Psalm 93:4 – “Mightier than the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea—the Lord on high is mighty.”
Matthew 8:27 – “Even the winds and the sea obey Him!”
Isaiah 43:2 – “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you.”
Moral of the Story:
You don’t have to fear the depths.
You don’t have to panic when life swirls around you.
The One who rules the sea stands in your storm. And He speaks peace right in the middle of it.
