It’s strange how the soul remembers places long after time has passed.
In my dream, I was back at my childhood home—not upstairs where the light came in, but in the basement. The low place. The buried place. The place we don’t always like to visit, even in our own memory.
The air was cool, still. Familiar.
As I looked up, I saw something unexpected—a gigantic hole in the ceiling. It was gaping, raw. It looked like something had broken through from above and never been repaired.
And then I heard a voice—not booming, but clear. It was calm. Holy.
“These are the wounds in your spirit,” it said.
I didn’t run. I didn’t hide. I just stood there… seen.
The voice continued, like a balm:
“…but I am here to mend them.”
And as I stood in the basement of my childhood, I watched it happen.
The broken ceiling began to heal.
Not with nails or hammers. Not with noise or hurry. But miraculously, quietly—as if Heaven itself laid hands on the rafters of my soul.
Piece by piece, what was once torn began to close. And what once made me afraid became a testimony of restoration.
Scripture Reflection:
Isaiah 58:12 –
“You will be called the Repairer of the Breach, the Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.”
Psalm 147:3 –
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
Jeremiah 30:17 –
“I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds, declares the Lord…”
Moral of the Story:
God doesn’t ignore the hidden places.
He enters them.
Even the basement of your soul isn’t too low for His healing hand.
What you thought was a permanent scar… He is restoring.
Even now.
